Man who 'senselessly executed' LASD sergeant sentenced to life in prison without parole

A Lancaster man who pleaded guilty in the 2016 execution-style slaying of a Los Angeles County sheriff's sergeant has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Trenton Trevon Lovell had two prior convictions and was on parole at the time of the slaying of Sgt. Steve Owen, who was shot five times on Oct. 5, 2016, in Lancaster.
