Dodgers fall to Blue Jays in Game 4, erasing hopes of celebrating final out of World Series in LA
Young Dodger fan doesn't hold back frustration
A young Dodger fan did not hold back his frustration towards the Boys in Blue's World Series foe, Toronto Blue Jays.
LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers failed to build off Monday's 18-inning classic as they dropped Game 4 of the World Series to the Toronto Blue Jays 6-2.
With the loss, the best-of-7 World Series is now tied 2-2, wiping away any hope of Dodger players and fans celebrating the final out of the 2025 season at Dodger Stadium. The Boys in Blue have one home game left in the season before the series shifts to Toronto for Game 6 and Game 7, if necessary.
The Dodgers fell behind after Ohtani allowed a two-run bomb to Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the top of the third inning.
Ohtani, the pitcher, stayed on the mound until the seventh inning before getting pulled with no outs after allowing hits to Daulton Varsho and Ernie Clement. His final line as a pitcher included 6 innings pitched, 6 hits allowed, 4 earned runs, a walk, and 6 strikeouts against the Blue Jays.
Ohtani was responsible for the two runners (Varsho and Clement) when lefty Anthony Banda took over in relief in the seventh. Varsho ended up scoring off an Andrés Giménez RBI hit and Clement scored on a fielder's choice by Ty France.
The Dodgers 'pen ended up allowing two more runs in the 7th inning meltdown to give the Jays their 5th and 6th runs.
Los Angeles drew first blood after Kiké Hernández drove in a run via a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second inning.
Following that RBI, the Dodgers only scored once more for the rest of the evening. Tommy Edman drove in a run via a fielder's choice in the 9th inning.
The two teams took the field Game 4 just hours after surviving an 18-inning classic that ended with the Dodgers beating the Blue Jays 6-5. Freddie Freeman, the 2024 World Series MVP, did his best impression of his Game 1 performance last year vs. the New York Yankees by sending Dodger fans home happy with a walkoff home run to end Monday's game.
Dodgers outlast Blue Jays in 18 innings
Freddie Freeman's walkoff home run in the 18th inning sent tired Los Angeles Dodgers home happy in Game 3 of the World Series.
In Monday's game, Ohtani reached base nine times, going 4 for 4 and hitting two home runs in the Game 3 win.
