Residents worry over recent break-ins in Calabasas area

A burglary on Monday night in the Agoura-Calabasas area has residents worried and asking the sheriff department just whats going on .

One after one people who live in the Agoura Hills, Calabasas, and Malibu areas came up to me to express their frustration and disappointment with the way the LA County Sheriff's Department is handling this ongoing search for a criminal.

Starting with the unsolved and shocking shooting death of a man who was camping with his young daughters at Malibu Creek State Park in June, through a number of shootings, burglaries and commercial break-ins, people are on edge. 'Unnevered' , 'nervous', 'concerned' and worried.'

The latest was an overnight break in at the local community center, Target and food in the vending machines.

So, is this a homeless person desperate to eat or a killer who's roaming the hills with a rifle? As the report claimed on Saturday.

The sheriff's, who've had town hall meetings to update citizens, are saying nothing specific and that's what 's frustrating residents.

Even today the top man in the sheriff's department would only say in so many words, 'We're working on it...We're devoted a lot of resources, I don't want to go into too much detail.'

Well, they said that in June.

The department is well aware of community frustration, but is doing things its way for now. No security camera video released, no sketch. no suspect , so far.
