BIRMINGHAM/FOX11 - A 17-year-old girl has been killed and a 17-year-old boy injured at Huffman High School in Birmingham. Alabama today.
Authorities say they are investigating whether the shooting may have been accidental.
Police officers are looking for surveillance video and witnesses who might be able to shed light on what happened as Neither student was immediately identified, and police say they are seeking surveillance video and witnesses to determine what had happened as school was being dismissed.
The shooting prompted a brief lockdown at the school.
Authorities are not yet saying who fired the weapon, which has been recovered, but did say that it was not someone who came into the school from outside.
