FOX 11 In Depth: The Las Vegas Massacre - One Year Later

This week's show is powerful and emotional. One year ago this coming Monday a gunman perched high in the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas mowed down dozens of people and injured hundreds.22,000 were caught up in the chaos. The majority were from Southern California. Its become the Las Vegas Massacre and we have, in our studio victims. Some were shot. Some saved lives.

SEGMENT ONE:

From a perch on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort 64-year-old Steven Paddock carried out an unimaginable attack on thousands of innocent people. It was the third night of the Route 91 Harvest Festival.

Shiva Ghaed, Tiffany Huizar and Taylor Winston were among the 22,000 people enjoying the country sounds of Jason Aldean. Huizar was shot three times. Winston saved some 30 people by throwing them in a pickup truck he found. And, Ghaed has held regular therapy sessions to help victims. In our opening story they describe what they remember in grim detail what they remember. Then, in studio, Jonathan Smith and Jasara Requjo recall their ordeal.

SEGMENT TWO:

Lisa Fine and Brian Claypool are our guests in this segment. Both were caught up in the chaos. Both started the nonprofit www.Route91strong.org. Both discuss their ordeal and what they're trying to do to help victims. Attorney Claypool now represents about 100 victims. Fine is working to help provide services for those with such things as PTSD.

SEGMENT THREE:

Our last two guests are Kristy Hayhurst and Danyell Ladd. They look to the future and, particularly, what gathering with others will mean in Las Vegas on October 1st - the one year anniversary.

SEGMENT FOUR:

We get a look at some of the tattoos victims have been getting so they never forget.
