Chaos in Carlsbad

Why does it happen, again and again? According to high profile attorney Mark Geragos, it's because many police officers have the attitude that "they can do whatever they want and get away with it." That's his explanation for what he says was a violent and unnecessary arrest of a Valencia woman named Cindy Hahn, captured of course by a bystander's cell phone, apparently unbeknownst to the police (Carlsbad CA officers) which shows her on the ground screaming for help while one officer tries to handcuff her, another arriving to help by punching her in the face.

Criminal charges were dropped after literally two years of waiting, and now Geragos and Hahn are suing Carlsbad in Federal Court. All this began, she says, when she complained about an officers behavior towards her when she asked him some questions, and it escalated to the point where that same officer later pulled her over for an alleged seatbelt violation.

Her two kids, ages 12 and 8 were in the car and watched helplessly. It all makes her sound and look very much the victim, but as always, there's more than one side to the story and, yes, the video doesn't show everything, and a late afternoon police statement says the City looks forward to getting the facts out in court, not the media, including parts of the video ''the plaintiff's attorney didn't show. To many who've seen in though, it certainly shows more than enough.
