Airports across the US face more cancellations Tuesday, including at LAX and John Wayne Airport. More than 80 flights at area airports have been canceled as COVID is affecting staffing.

Another wave of flight cancellations hit the Southland Monday due to COVID-19 and weather issues.

Flight cancellations continued to plague Los Angeles International Airport and airports and around the world, driven largely by staffing issues as coronavirus cases soar.

As of Friday morning, at least 50 flights out were canceled out of Los Angeles International Airport, including at least 22 United flights and 18 Delta flights. LAX was also reporting 65 flight delays on Friday.

People traveling during the holiday season can get free COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots at LAX on two consecutive Wednesdays -- Wednesday, Dec. 22 and Dec. 29.
