An investigation is underway to determine if the suspect is involved with other BB gun shootings that have occurred in Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles Counties.

The California Highway Patrol will ramp up operations on highways, freeways and roads throughout Riverside County this Memorial Day weekend to snare drunken and other unsafe drivers as part of a statewide campaign.

Another two vehicles were damaged Tuesday by BB or pellet gun fire in Orange County, bringing the number of freeway shootings since last month to about 100 across Southern California.

The windows of four more vehicles were blown out on Monday in the latest in a string of freeway shootings across Southern California. The CHP estimates that close to 100 incidents have occurred in Riverside, Orange and Los Angeles counties over the last month.

Two former California Highway Patrol officers have been charged with accepting $35,000 in bribes in exchange for falsifying records for exotic cars, authorities said Monday.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate a string of shootings reported on freeways across Southland. Investigators believe in most incidents it appears a BB or pellet gun was used. 

Authorities are once again investigating yet another round of shootings involving BB guns on the 91 Freeway in Riverside and Corona.
