Squirrel 'porch pirate' caught on video stealing package from San Pedro home

SAN PEDRO, Calif. - As it turns out, porch pirates around the holidays come in all shapes, sizes and species! A squirrel was caught on camera stealing a package from the front porch of a home in San Pedro.
 
The video showed the sneaky bandit running past the front door, then, moments later, the squirrel grabbed an Amazon package that was sitting on the front porch.
 
The little thief made its getaway, but didn’t make it very far. A witness spotted the squirrel on the run and was able to get the package back and return it to the owner.

The crime was no surprise to the resident, who said he often finds packages in the bushes around the apartment complex and doesn't believe this was the squirrel's first robbery.
