SACRAMENTO, Calif. (FOX 11) - A preacher in Sacramento is refusing to back down from comments about the Orlando shooting that have offended many people.
In his Sunday sermon at the Verity Baptist Church...he seemed to be celebrating the Orlando massacre.
That is Roger Jimenez.
The video from the Verity Baptist Church has been taken down by YouTube for violating its hate speech policy.
But Jimenez is not backing down from the sermon.
He says god put a death penalty on gay people.
The church will hold a weekly Wednesday night service tonight.
A protest is planned outside the church over the remarks Jimenez made. Among those criticizing Jimenez is Sacramento Mayor, Kevin Johnson.
He sent out this tweet, saying "the hateful comments made by a preacher in Sacramento do not reflect Christian values and have no place in our society.
