Gunmen shoot and kill man outside his Woodland Hills home

Police are seeking the public's help to solve the killing of a Woodland Hills man, who was gunned down outside his house.

The gunfire was reported at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 4900 block of Medina Drive, said Capt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department's Topanga Station.

Hovik Krboyan, 37, died at the scene, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Officers went to the location after neighbors reported hearing gunshots in the neighborhood, Vernon said.

``After examining the crime scene, it appears the victim knew his assailants,'' Vernon said. ``We aren't sure, yet, what's behind this man's shooting, but cases like this often stem from business or domestic disputes.''

The victim's wife and 9-year-old daughter were at the home at the time of the shooting, which occurred outside the house, but on the property, police said

Reports from the scene said the victim opened his gate for whoever killed him because he had ordered a pizza that he thought was being delivered.

The person delivering the pizza arrived shortly after the shooting.

``The wife and daughter had remained in the house and were not targeted,'' Vernon said. ``Tips from acquaintances of the victim often break cases like these. So we're hoping some person ... might come forward soon and point us in the right direction.''
