Flight from Hawaii to LAX diverted back to Honolulu after reported fight between passengers

A flight from Honolulu to Los Angeles was forced to return back to Hawaii after a fight between two passengers on board, KHON2 reported.

Hawaiian Airlines flight 2 left for Los Angeles International Airport at 5:50 p.m. Pacific Standard Time Tuesday. About two hours into the flight, the captain chose to return the plane to Honolulu due to two "unruly passengers," according to KHON2.

Police were waiting for the aircraft when it arrived, the station reported.

"I don't know if it was wife or girlfriend, but was like 'Don't talk to her like that, you shouldn't talk to her like that'," passenger Stanson Chung told the station. "And then the guy said, 'Don't you talk to me like that' and that kinda triggered him to charge him or something."

Some flight attendants suffered minor injuries.

There were 276 passengers and 11 crew members on board.

The flight eventually departed for Los Angeles at 11 p.m. PST and arrived at LAX at about 4:30 a.m.
