Back to the Future Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary!

The Delorean first made its way into our hearts in July of 1985, now it's celebrating their 30th anniversary!

"This year it's been really nuts," said Delorean mechanic Danny Botkin.

Botkin works at Delorean Motor Company. This is the 10th car he's built to match the ones in the movie. He says the parts aren't easy to come by but, he wouldn't want to be driving around in anything else.

"The Delorean is the smile maker. I've never meet a person who didn't love the movie. And literally, you pull around any corner and people smile and wave. It's just fun," Botkin said.

Botkin says his Delorean lights up smokes and travels just like the one in the movie just, so he took FOX 11's Christine O'Donnell for a spin.

"What's this set to? O'Donnell asked

"That's actually my birthday," Botkin said.

"You could go back in time and cheer your mom on and welcome yourself into the world, pretty cool." O'Donnell replied.

The first Back To The Future movie was the highest-grossing film of 1985 and became an international phenomenon, leading to the second and third films.

Botkin says he charges $47,500 to outfit a DeLorean with the fully detailed "Back to the Future" treatment.

There will be celebrations throughout the weekend, but tonight at 8:30 p.m. the Hollywood Bowl will have Deloreans on display. They will be screening the film with a live score performance by the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
