The LA mayor's office released a series of deleted text messages that were sent between Karen Bass and city and county officials as the Palisades Fire erupted.

A recall effort against Bass has been launched, requiring 330,000 signatures to proceed.

An attorney for Bass' office claims that public record laws do not apply to text messages, and that Bass' phone is set up to automatically delete her text messages.
