Both were recently honored by city council for their work serving the community and reporting about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Artsakh, the continued aggression by Azerbaijan against Armenia itself, and the threat of another genocide.

For Armenian History Month, the Los Angeles City Council honored FOX 11 anchor Araksya Karapetyan and reporter Christina Pascuccci for their work in the Armenian community, bringing awareness and sharing the important stories.

April 24, 2023 marks the 108th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, where 1.5 million Armenians were killed by the Ottoman Empire.

Schools will be closed Monday in the Los Angeles and Glendale unified school districts to commemorate Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day and there will be a rally in Little Armenia to mark the 108th anniversary of the start of the events that are widely viewed by scholars as the first genocide of the 20th century.

Events are set to take place across Southern California for Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.
