Woman, 73, dies in Granada Hills house fire
GRANADA HILLS, Calif. - A woman has died in an early morning house fire in Granada Hills.
The woman has been identified as 73-year-old Cheryl Frerking.
Firefighters were dispatched to a house on the 10000 block of North Densmore Avenue around 5 a.m. Saturday. The Los Angeles Fire Department says firefighters had the blaze out within 50 minutes of their arrival and reported the structure sustained a partial roof collapse.
Fire crews found her face down in the kitchen. The fire department says her husband made it out of house unharmed by the time firefighters arrived.

The fire department stated the fire was fueled by excessive storage conditions inside and outside of the home.
There were no evidence of a functional smoke alarm. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
