Social Media Radicalization

An Al-Qaida recruiter halfway around the world used social media to radicalize Americans who then plotted to travel overseas to link up with the Taliban and Al-Qaida to kill U.S. soldiers. It was the social media fingerprint left by the Internet extremist that led the Feds to bust a 2012 terror plot before it was carried out.

We have the evidence that led to the arrests of the four young radicals. Federal prosecutors also presented the lectures captured from Facebook as evidence in the 2014 trial of two of the four men arrested in the Chino just before they boarded a plane for Afghanistan. Those two men were found guilty. Two other entered guilty pleas before the trial began. All four are now serving time in federal prison.
