13 injured in Santa Clarita crash involving bus, gravel truck

A multi-vehicle collision in Santa Clarita left over a dozen people injured, and a major intersection buried in gravel on Wednesday morning. 

What we know:

The incident was reported at around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Centre Pointe Parkway and Golden Valley Road, according to authorities. 

The collision involved a Santa Clarita Valley Transit bus, a truck carrying a full load of dirt and gravel, and a white sedan.

SkyFOX video showed that white car with significant damage and the city bus resting near the overturned gravel truck.

Officials said the impact caused the truck to overturn, spilling gravel across the roadway.

At least 13 people are injured, with four in critical condition. 

What we don't know:

The specific cause of the collision is not yet clear, and it has not been determined which vehicle had the right of way at the time of the crash. 

The status and severity of the injuries sustained by the victims have not been fully detailed by hospital officials.

What you can do:

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, as the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Centre Pointe Parkway is expected to remain closed for several hours for cleanup and investigation.

Santa Clarita Valley Transit users should check for delays or detours affecting routes that pass through the Canyon Country area.
