LA's Most Wanted: Murder Victim Chad Keaton

Chad Keaton was wounded in a drive-by shooting as he left the home of one of his oldest and closest friends. It happened at the corner of Comstock Street and Parmelee Avenue, a Compton neighborhood plagued by gang violence.

At about 9:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2013, a white sedan with two Africa-American men inside drove by and shot at Chad. He did not die that night or next night. He was able to give some information to investigators before he finally died 31 days later.

Mr. Keaton had never been part of a gang and he did not have a criminal record of any kind which leads investigators to believe that he was murdered for no better reason than he was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detectives Richard Tomlin or Luis Nuñez the the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau: 323.890.5500. Anonymous tips can be called into Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS.
