Homeowner tackles, handcuffs car thief in citizens arrest

LANCASTER, Calif. (FOX 11) - A homeowner in Lancaster held a burglar in handcuffs while waiting for police to arrive.

This all happened last night around midnight in the 800-block of Lois Lane.

A family says they were coming home from a birthday party...when they caught a burglar trying to steal one of their cars.

The homeowner -- who is also a licensed security officer says, he chased the man, tackled and handcuffed him....then waited for police to arrive.

The burglar was checked out by paramedics and then arrested.
