Dog saved from storm drain after hiding from coyote

LAKE FOREST, Calif. (FOX 11) - A little pup in Orange County named Sparky had a rough start to his Saturday.

The dog was attacked by a coyote this morning in Lake Forest and wound up stuck in a storm drain, according to officials.

They say the dog ran into the storm drain to escape the coyote who was to big to fit in the drain.

The Orange County Fire Authority posted a series of photos to Twitter showing crews working to rescue Sparky from the drain on Paseo Sombra.

Authorities said the pup was in good condition when they got him out, but was taken to the vet to be checked.
