'Porch pirates' continue to target holiday packages across SoCal neighborhoods

SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. (FOX 11) - A thief struck a Sherman Oaks Neighborhood last Friday stealing several packages and leaving the empty boxes behind.

If it's ever happened to you, you know how upsetting that can be. In this case, the homeowner had left specific instructions on where to leave the package instead of out in the open by the front door.

Unfortunately, the Amazon driver ignored the instructions and the package was stolen. We contacted Amazon; they apologized for the driver not following instructions and will replace the package.

If you're worried your deliveries will be stolen, Amazon has lockers at certain stores where you can pick up your packages.

You could also have them delivered to your work and if UPS and FED EX are making the deliveries, you can pick them up at a distribution center.
