Investigation underway in Long Beach after man stabbed to death near homeless encampment

LONG BEACH, Calif. (FOX 11) - A homicide investigation is underway in Long Beach after a man was stabbed to death.
Around 5:35 a.m. Saturday officers responded to the 200 block of E. Artesia Blvd. and found a man on the ground with multiple stab wounds to his upper torso.
The fire department declared him dead on scene; he has been identified as 41-year-old as Anthony Durr.
Officers say their investigation led them to a homeless encampment on the eastside of Long Beach Blvd., near the 91 freeway, where they found evidence of a crime. Detectives believe Durr was walking near the homeless encampment when he apparently got into a dispute with another man. The altercation led to the stabbing.

Officers say the victim then walked to the 200 block of E. Artesia Blvd. and collapsed outside of a home. It is not known if there was any prior relationship between the victim and suspect.
Police are currently searching for the suspect responsible.
