Police in Fontana are searching for a man who they say attacked and killed a businessowner in the city earlier this month.

Officers say Ronalee Barrett Stanberry has been on the run since Jan. 10. Just before 9 a.m. that morning, police said Stanberry attacked a 79-year-old man with a baseball bat outside a Allstate Insurance location on Sierra Avenue.

Police said Stanberry attacked the man unprovoked, while he was opening up the business for the day.

First responders took the man to the hospital. He died on Jan. 21.

Stanberry was reportedly last seen running off on foot toward the eastbound 10 Freeway on-ramp at Sierra Avenue. According to police, Stanberry is homeless, but has connections to Chino, Los Angeles and Kern County. Stanberry also has several distinctive tattoos, police said, particularly two above his eyebrows that say "Active" and "Whiteboy."

He was last seen in a white USPS button-up shirt with blue pinstripes, that police said he stole from the victim's business.
