Shocking video captures the moment a hit-and-run driver crashed into a person riding an electric scooter in downtown Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES - Shocking video captures the moment a hit-and-run driver crashed into a person riding an electric scooter in downtown Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a crash near the intersection of South Spring Street and West 4th Street around 1 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect hit the e-scooter driver, causing the person to fly off the scooter.

The e-scooter rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Surveillance video obtained by FOX 11 showed a man – believed to be the hit-and-run suspect – running from the scene without a shirt on.
