CHP: Badly injured driver runs from hit-and-run that damages parked cars in East L.A.

Investigators were looking for the man responsible for crashing into multiple parked cars and running from the scene in East Los Angeles despite the severity of his injuries early Monday morning, California Highway Patrol said.

The driver of a Dodge Ram slammed a truck into multiple vehicles parked near the intersection of South Atlantic Boulevard and Union Pacific Avenue around 1:30 a.m. The truck flipped onto its side upon impact.

Witnesses told FOX 11 they saw the man climb out of the driver's side as he continued to run south in the moments following the rollover crash. The driver was also reportedly bleeding profusely from his neck, a witness said.

Arriving paramedics arrived at the scene to find blood, but the driver was nowhere in sight. Authorities believe the man was likely seriously injured and bleeding heavily.

The driver lost control before slamming into three parked cars, CHP said. A white GMC Yukon and black Chevrolet Tahoe were totaled in the crash.

The owners of the damaged vehicles were at a bar when the crash occurred, CHP said.

The investigation is ongoing and the driver remains at large.
