President Trump approves California Emergency Declaration

President Trump declared a state of emergency for California on Friday afternoon, ordering federal assistance to supplement local response efforts as three major wildfires burn across the state.

The declaration will allow the Department of Homeland Security and FEMA to coordinate disaster relief efforts to help alleviate the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population, and to provide assistance for emergency measures, protect property and public health, and to help save lives, especially in Ventura, Los Angeles, and Butte counties where the Camp Fire, Woolsey Fire and Hill Fires continue to burn.
