The largest of the commencement ceremonies will take place Friday in three installments for the College of Letters and Science, which includes the Division of Humanities, Division of Life Science, Division of Physical Sciences and Division of Social Sciences.

Protesters began erecting tents on the plaza, and at one point stood in formation at the top of the Janss Steps that lead into the plaza to prevent people from entering. Some makeshift barricades were also assembled, and protesters also dyed the water in a plaza fountain red.
