Terrorism on the minds of some travelers at LAX
Rachelle Schoonover talks to her 4-and-half-year-old son about their trip to London. He says it'll be super good. But, she's very aware of the Istanbul Airport attack earlier in the week and the new one in Bangladesh. She tells Keanu there's more good in the world than bad. That's what she wants him to learn. She tells us,
"It's unfortunate that we live in the times where its uncertain. but for my son we want him to be cultured," and not afraid.
One thing she wasn't prepared for was the traffic at LAX Friday. She, her son and husband were three of 265,000 expected to travel Friday. Three of 1.2 million expected to travel through LAX during the 4th of July holiday weekend.
Airport officials are recommending you give yourself more time than you normally might to get to LAX because you don't want to miss your flight because of traffic. World Airports Spokeswoman Mary Grady says to be at LAX 2.5 hours before your boarding time for domestic flights. For international flights it should be 3.5 hours.
