Public safety power shutoffs leaves 71K SoCal Edison customers without power

Southern California Edison shut off power for 71,058 customers and another 304,000 customers could also lose power due to Public Safety Power Shutoffs during the extreme Santa Ana wind event Wednesday. 

Southland braced for the possibility of the strongest Santa Ana winds this season while firefighters continued to battle multiple fires, including the Getty Fire, Easy Fire and Hill Fire

Power was shut off in the following communities in Los Angeles, Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura counties and Malibu:

-Unincorporated communities including Agua Dulce, Acton, Lincoln Crest, Canyon Country, Cantillas, Forest Park, Mint Canyon, Indian Springs, El Merrie Dell, Lincoln Crest, Mt. Wilson, Valencia, Newhall, Saugus, Sylmar

Kern County
-Unincorporated areas including Bear Valley Springs, Stallion Springs, South of Golden Hills, South of Tehachapi Valley, Golden Hills, Old Town, Alpine Forest
 

Riverside County 
-Banning
-Unincorporated areas including Mountain Center and Idyllwild
 

San Bernardino County 
-Devore Heights
-San Bernardino
-Etiwanda
-Lytle Creek
-Rancho Cucamonga
 

Ventura County 
-Thousand Oaks
Santa Paula
-Fillmore
-Ojai
-Moorpark
-Somis 
-Unincorporated areas including Santa Susana, East of Kevet, Santa Susana Knolls

City of Malibu
SCE notified the City that it had shut off power the Cuthbert Circuit 10/30/19 at 8:49 PM. The Cuthbert Circuit is in the City of Malibu and uincorporated areas south of Malibu Vista, covering most of Point Dume northeast nearly to Latigo Canyon.

The electric supply company also warned 304,154 customers were under consideration for power shutoffs in Kern, Los Angeles, Mono, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Tuolumne counties.
