Man suspected of opening fire at Northridge 7-Eleven sought

A man with a pellet gun opened fire inside a convenience store in Northridge Thursday morning, then again outside the store, and a search is underway for the suspect.

Police went to the 8200 block of White Oak Avenue at about 4 a.m. in response to a call reporting the presence of a man with a gun, according to Officer Ray Brown of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations Section.

The man reportedly asked for cigarettes and when the clerk asked the suspect to pay, the suspect pulled out a pellet gun and began firing before running outside and firing at the store's glass doors, breaking at least one.

No injuries were reported.
