Lockdown for Garden Grove schools lifted after report of gunfire
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (FOX 11) - A report of shots being fired in a Garden Grove neighborhood today led to a modified lockdown of five schools as a precaution.
The report was received shortly before 8 a.m. and resulted in lockdowns at Alamitos Intermediate School, and Lawrence, Stanford, Zeyen and Faylane elementary schools, according to the Garden Grove Unified School District.
The lockdowns were lifted about 10:15 a.m., the school district reported.
Garden Grove police Lt. Bob Bogue said police received a call of someone firing two rounds into the air from a shotgun near Blanche Avenue and Dale Street. No one was injured, he said.
Officers late this morning were looking for the suspect, who was thought to have entered a residence in the area, Bogue said.
