La Casa Garcia Restaurant feeds the needy with 'We Give Thanks' event

ANAHEIM, Calif. (FOX 11 / CNS) - Thanksgiving dinner will be served to the needy at the annual "We Give Thanks'' event, which is now in its 29th year. La Casa Garcia Restaurant and the We Give Thanks Inc. nonprofit puts on the event, thanks the generosity of restaurateur and philanthropist Frank Garcia.

This is the ninth year the event has been held at the Honda Center. Last year, more than 600 turkeys, 3,000 pies and 5,000 pounds of potatoes were doled out. Anaheim city officials and Anaheim Ducks players are expected to be on hand to help out.

Volunteers begin cooking at 6 a.m.; official carving at 10:45 a.m.; meals to be served from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Honda Center, 2695 E. Katella Ave., Parking Lot 5, directly across from the Honda Center at the corner of Katella Avenue and Douglass Road next to the freeway.
