(FOX 11 Los Angeles)

Los Angeles Fire Department and SoCalGas crews worked to stop a natural gas leak in Pacific Palisades that occurred just before 3:30 p.m. Monday.

It took crews more than 90 minutes to stop the leak, according to the fire department who says a 3-inch subterranean natural gas pipeline was ruptured by a construction crew at a site in the 17300 block of W. Tramonto Drive.

Due to the close proximity to a large apartment building and school, the fire department says at least 100 residents from the apartment building evacuated out of an abundance of caution, and everyone at the Chabad of Pacific Palisades school was sheltering in place until the leak was stopped.

Sunset Boulevard remained open to all traffic and was not affected by the incident.

No injuries were reported as a result of this incident at this time.
