Driver who crashed into two people riding horses arrested for hit-and-run
LOS ANGELES - A 32-year-old man who slammed his van into two people riding horses in Lake View Terrace, severely injuring the riders and
killing the horses, has been arrested.
After the crash he fled the scene on foot and was later arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
The crash took place about 9:40 p.m. Friday on Foothill Boulevard, near Wheatland Avenue, police said.

After hitting the two riders, the van then crashed into a wall and became disabled, the police department stated.
The horses died at the scene and the riders were transported to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries.
LAPD's Valley traffic Division detectives arrested Rolando Garcia around 5:00 a.m. Saturday. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
There was no immediate word on when he would be arraigned.
