Crews battling 'Shoreline Fire' near Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. - Firefighters in Ventura County are battling a brush fire that broke out Friday afternoon south of the 101 Freeway and east of Emma Wood State Beach.
The fire is being called the Shoreline Fire and has burned at least two acres of thick brush. The fire has the potential to grow to at least 10 acres, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.
A fire helicopter is being utilized in the firefight by providing water drops in an attempt to quickly control the Shoreline Fire and extinguish the flames.
Traffic on the 101 Freeway has slowed down due to the fire.

No injuries have been reported. It was not immediately known if the nearby Emma Wood State Beach campgrounds were evacuated. Officials said several buildings were threatened.
The fire is 80% contianed.
No further details were immediately known. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
