Brush fire spreads, burns motel in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (FOX 11 / AP) - A small brush fire has burned through a motel in San Bernardino, but there are no reports of any injuries.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department says flames tore through two buildings from the Super 8 Motel just off Interstate 10, and threatened to spread to surrounding motels.
The blaze began as a vegetation fire that was reported shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday. All the rooms were evacuated before the fire reached them.
Flames could be seen shooting through the roof in several places at the Super 8. It is on Hospitality Lane in San Bernardino, which is home to many motels and restaurants. The flames had been slowed significantly after about an hour.
Fifteen engines are on the scene taking on the blaze.
