PARAMOUNT, Calif. - Los Angeles Sheriff's deputies resorted to pepper spray to break up a brawl at a local high school.
Cell phone video taken by one of the students during the lunch hour at Paramount High School on Friday shows a chaotic scene.
School officials say the fight started over a nude photo of a student that was posted on social media.
Officials say around 20 students were involved. Deputies pepper-sprayed two students who were treated by the school nurse and paramedics.
Friday night, the superintendent of the Paramount Unified School District, Dr. Ruth Perez, released the following statement:
"All students involved have been suspended while an investigation is completed. The school district will continue to do everything in its power to maintain the safety of all students. Those students that initiated conflict will receive appropriate consequences."
The investigation is ongoing.
