Woman killed by `several vehicles' on Downtown L.A. freeway

A pedestrian was struck and killed by "several vehicles'' on the Harbor (110) Freeway in downtown Los Angeles.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at 5:15 a.m. Saturday to the northbound freeway near Temple Street, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by "several vehicles,'' Stewart said.

"Traffic will be impacted on the northbound 110 for undetermined period of time,'' she said.

A Sigalert was issued at 5:35 a.m., closing the Eighth Street on-ramp to the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, the California Highway
Patrol reported.

No further information was released about the victim.
