Woman found shot to death in Koreatown, man hospitalized

A woman was shot to death in Koreatown Friday, and the man who allegedly killed her was hospitalized in extremely critical condition with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

Officers sent to the 3300 block of James M. Wood Boulevard about 6:30 a.m. found the wounded woman in a vehicle and the wounded man "a short distance away,'' said Los Angeles police Officer Jane Kim. Paramedics
transported the pair for hospital treatment.

The woman died at a hospital, and the man was hospitalized in extremely critical condition, said LAPD Officer Liliana Preciado. Police spokespersons had originally been told that the man had died, Preciado said. Their names were not immediately released.

The pair had a relationship that involved a history of domestic violence, a police captain told Fox11.
