What is up with those falling gas prices in LA and OC?!

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today to its lowest amount since Feb. 3, 2015, decreasing 1.4 cents to $2.516.

The average price has dropped 40 of the past 41 days, decreasing 55.9 cents, including eight-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 12.6 cents less than one week ago, 44 cents lower than one month ago and 34.2 cents below what it was one year ago.

The average price decreased for 27 consecutive days, was unchanged Feb. 1 then resumed dropping the following day.

The Orange County average price dropped today to its lowest amount since Feb. 4, 2015, decreasing 1.6 cents to $2.514.

The Orange County average price has also dropped 40 of the past 41 days, decreasing 55.5 cents, including eight-tenths of a cent on Monday. It is 11.3 cents less than one week ago, 42.6 cents lower than one month ago and 33.4 cents below what it was one year ago.

The Orange County average price decreased for 24 consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent Jan. 31, then resumed dropping the following day.
