WATCH: Rome Officers Save Christmas for Family in Need

Members of the Rome Police Department went above and beyond the call of duty to help save Christmas for a family in need.

Thursday night, a thief broke into a family's vehicle and stole more than $300 worth of clothes, two tablets and a laptop. The items were Christmas presents a mother had purchased for her three children, including her youngest daughter who has special needs.

Rome Police's Morning Watch officers couldn't stand what happened to the family and wanted to do more than just take a police report.

"These awesome police officers teamed up to provide this family, out of their pocket, with a $300 gift card and a couple of dolls to help save Christmas for this family," the police department said on Facebook.

A video was shared as the officers presented the mother with the gift and her reaction is priceless.
