Video: robber places victim in chokehold
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - The hunt is on for a man who placed his victim in a chokehold in Manhattan while robbing him.
The attack was captured on security cameras Friday night just before 10 p.m. inside an apartment building near 147th St. and Amsterdam Avenue in Hamilton Heights. The attacker had a gun and when the victim resisted the suspect placed him in a rear chokehold.
The 23-year-old victim passed out and the suspect took off with a phone, wallet, backpack and $1,000.
Police say he is a dark-skinned male with a beard, mustache, black sunglasses and a black backpack; last seen wearing a white shirt with the words "R.I.P Youth" on its front and a graphic of a tombstone with an upside down house on its back, gray sweatpants and black sneakers.
