Suspect in custody following police pursuit near South LA

LOS ANGELES - A suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase through South Los Angeles.

The suspect was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon. 

The pursuit moved along the streets of Crenshaw Boulevard and Slauson Avenue in the Hyde Park area.

Police eventually deployed a spike strip, causing the suspect’s vehicle to come to a halt.

The suspect got out of the vehicle, and SkyFOX caught him sitting on the hood of a sedan near Slauson and Victoria avenues before fleeing on foot. 

But within minutes he was apprehended by officers and taken into custody. It is not known if he was armed.
