Reports of fires and a burn injury have prompted the recall of nearly 340,000 space heaters sold in the United States, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says.

Big picture view:

Certain DREO brand ceramic space heaters that are being recalled are black and measure about 11.5 inches wide and 13 inches tall and include a remote control.

They were sold nationwide at Costco stores and online at Dreo.com, BestBuy.com, Kohls.com, Lowes.com, QVC.com, HomeDepot.com, B2BRenew.com and Costco.com from September 2025 through October 2026. The units ranged in price from $70 to $110.

Approximately 338,800 units were sold in the U.S. and another 36,300 were sold in Canada.

The CPSC says DREO received 17 reports of the units igniting. Of those cases, three caused property damage and one report described a burn injury to a victim’s hand.

The agency is asking customers who have one of the recalled heaters to stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer for a replacement.

What to Look For:

The date of manufacture, in a YYYY/MM format and the model number are printed on a label on the heater’s underside.

The units being recalled were manufactured between April 2025 and January 2026. The model number being recalled is DR-HSH015.

What you can do:

If you have one of the recalled units, call DREO toll-free at 833-820-0887 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday, email spaceheater@realtimeresults.net, or visit www.dreo.com and click on "PRODUCT RECALLS" on the top of the page.

The company will ask customers to unplug the space heater, destroy it by cutting the electrical cord and follow instructions to send a photo of the destroyed heater.
