So Cal salons impacted by new employment law find a fix in an app
AB 1513 is a California employment law is significantly impacting the salon industry. Stylists that traditionally would be paid commission must now be paid as "piece-rate employees." This means in addition to each head of hair that is cut or styled, they must also be paid for their downtime in between appointments. This is a significant change many salons can't afford. But at least one new app is helping salons and stylists fill in those empty hours with new customers.
