Several officer-involved shootings happening in LA County in one day

It was a violent and deadly Thursday in Los Angeles County as four officer-involved shooting happened within hours of each other.

Atwater Village:

The first shooting happened in Atwater Village around noon in the area of Appleton Street and Brunswick Avenue. Officers say a man was allegedly chasing people in the neighborhood. When officers arrived they tried arresting him but the suspect charged at officers with an "edged weapon'', and that's when they opened fire. The suspect was pronounced dead on scene.

San Gabriel:

It was a wild scene in San Gabriel as an hours-long standoff ended with the suspect being shot dead.
The standoff began around 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2000 block of Brighton Street when San Gabriel police were called to investigate a report of a family dispute.

An exchange of gunfire then occurred between officers and the suspect; the suspect then retreated inside the home. Around 4:30 p.m. smoke and flames could been seen coming from the house the suspect was barricaded in. At some point the suspect, shirtless and holding a gun, ran to a
second home on the property and tossed fireworks from inside.

Man shot to death during officer-involved shooting in Atwater Village

Authorities used an unmanned vehicle to break out a window of the second home and toss what appeared to be gas into the structure. The suspect then jumped into a pickup truck and crawled out from under the truck and ran back to one of the homes with a cigarette in his mouth and a weapon in each hand. A short time later, the man emerged from a doorway of the home with a shotgun in hand and was fatally shot by deputies.

The standoff shutdown westbound lanes of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, which is about a block away from the home.

Willowbrook:

Later in the evening, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to an apartment complex in Willowbrook around 7:30 p.m. Deputies attempted to talk with two men inside a vehicle parked in the
parking lot of the complex near 132nd and San Pedro streets when a deputy-involved shooting occurred.

According to the sheriff's department one suspect was struck multiple times in the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene. The second suspect, who was not injured, was taken into
custody. No deputies were injured during the shooting.

Inglewood:

The final fatal shooting of the night happened in Inglewood around 10:30 p.m. According to officials a man got into a deputy's patrol vehicle and shots were fired. This happened in the area of Imperial Highway, between Doty and Yukon Avenue. The suspect was struck multiple times in the upper body and taken to a hospital where he later died, the sheriff's department said. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

All four shootings are currently under investigation.
