Rockslide forces closure of Malibu Canyon Road between Piuma and Francisco Ranch Road

A rockslide on Sunday forced the closure of Malibu Canyon Road between Piuma Road and Francisco Ranch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Malibu's city website said the road was closed "north of the tunnel due to boulders blocking traffic lanes. LA County Dept of Public Works is enroute."

Further west, Mulholland Highway remained closed between Pacific Coast Highway and Highway 23 due to mud and rockslides.

CHP is advising drivers to take alternate routes.
