Police search for Van Nuys sexual assault suspect

The search continued today for a 30-year-old man who entered a store, grabbed a woman, dragged her to the rear of the location and tried to sexually assault her, according to Los Angeles police.

The attempted assault occurred about 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Community Police Station.

The suspect eventually left the location, which was not disclosed. He was described as having black hair, being about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green jacket and blue pants.

Anyone with information on the attempted assault was asked to call LAPD Officer A. Vardanian of the Sexual Assault Detail at (818) 374-0008 or 911.
