LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. - A Los Angeles-based podcast host is getting creative as he turns fashion into a fundraiser to help restaurants impacted by the Eaton Fire.
Host of LA Food Podcast, Luca Servidio, wanted to help and started
"What if we made t-shirts for every resturants that burned down?" Servidio recalled.
It only took about a week from that idea to graphic design to launch day. Right now, five restaurants have shirts.
FOX reporter Peyton Yager spoke with one of the restaurant owners getting help, who said she was grateful for the help.
Anya Schodorf, owner of Café de Leche, said he lost the Altadena location in the deadly Jan. 2025 fire.
"It's still very surreal," Schodorf said, who is currently at the Highland Park location of Café de Leche. "I still feel like i'm in a dream."
Schodorf remembers her last glance back before the flames destroyed the Altadena neighborhood.
"You could feel it in the air," she recalled.
The Altadena location was the couple's most popular and profitable location.
"We are fighting a good fight," said her husband Matt Schodorf. "We will come back this time period is a little rough."
There is also a general t-shirt available that says, "Support Restaurants." Those looking to help with the fundraiser can click here.
The proceeds go to "Restaurants Care," a nonprofit that helps all restaurant workers impacted by the fires.
